Service Year Alliance prioritizes service year alums in three key ways: data, communications, and elevating alum voices.
Get the Data
As a national service community, we need better data on who serves, where they serve, and what they do after their service year. To date, the service year field has lacked critical information about alums that can support their programs, recruitment, and storytelling efforts. To address this knowledge gap, Service Year Alliance works closely with state service commissions and service year programs to connect with recent alums, building connections across generations of individuals who served and building a collective story of impact.
2025 Service Year Alums Survey: In 2025, Service Year Alliance conducted a first-of-its-kind survey of national service alums. The 2025 Service Year Alums Survey and accompanying State of Alums Report offer compelling data-driven evidence that affirms what practitioners, advocates, and service year alums have long known: service years work—for young people, for communities, and for the nation.

Elevate Your Voice
The Service Year Alliance Leadership Council Alums Committee is a bipartisan and cross-sector collaborative of select service year alums who act as advisers and thought leaders by bringing service year alums voices and perspectives to Service Year Alliance’s work. We will engage with these leaders on a regular basis, and they will inform and advise our work with service year alums and our broader efforts.
Alums Amplified is a national speakers bureau that lifts up the voices of alums who are passionate about sharing their service stories and advocating for the future of national service.
These alumni speakers represent the diversity, talent, and impact of the service year experience. From Capitol Hill to community events, Alums Amplified speakers are ready to share how AmeriCorps shaped their careers, leadership, and lives. Alums Amplified was launched in Summer 2025; information on how programs and state service commissions can connect with speakers will be available soon.

Service Year Alliance launched the Service Year Alums Awards in 2024! The Service Year Alums Awards recognize outstanding alums across the national service community for their contributions during their service years and beyond. This is an opportunity to showcase your contributions through service, highlight the positive impacts you've made, and inspire future generations of service year members. Segal Leadership Award
