On May 4, Congress passed an FY17 spending bill which protects funding for national service programs including AmeriCorps, the Peace Corps, and YouthBuild.
National service is safe for now, but the real fight is just beginning. The Trump Administration has proposed eliminating the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency that supports national service programs like AmeriCorps in the FY18 budget.
We are mobilizing service supporters, beneficiaries, and service year alums of all backgrounds to come together and demonstrate a constituency for service. With so many programs on the chopping block, every voice counts. Let’s show Congress that we are a movement that will not be ignored.
