Libby (she/her) is dedicated to working with communities to affect change and is a strong advocate for national service. Libby began her career serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Office of the Mayor in Baltimore in 2011-2012 conducting community outreach initiatives, including spearheading a community garden project and a talent show for recovery centers in Baltimore City. With a desire to do more direct service, from 2012-2013, Libby served as a State/National member with Children’s Hunger Alliance in Dayton, Ohio, teaching nutrition and physical education to elementary and middle school students. Since this time, Libby has taken on numerous roles in non-profits, including an Associate Director position of an AmeriCorps VISTA program, before making her way to the higher education field.
Currently, Libby is a Service-Learning Coordinator at Montgomery College, encouraging and guiding the next generation of service leaders. She also serves on the AmeriCorps Alums DC board and will assume the new role of President this board year. In her spare time, Libby enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, baking and cooking vegan food, and spending time with friends and family in the great outdoors. Libby is thrilled to be part of AmeriCorps Alums Amplified to share her story to help protect and expand AmeriCorps so future generations can partake and benefit from the program.
