Marshall completed one year in an AmeriCorps State program and three years as a VISTA with three different organizations, and he is currently in his fifth and final year serving as a VISTA Leader. Marshall recently earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Management at University of Illinois Chicago and passed the exam to become a certified Housing Counselor; he is now seeking his next position.

During his first year of service, Marshall was homeless; but was able to come back home through service and continue helping others who are still on the streets get housed. Marshall also volunteers at the Lincoln Park Zoo as a behind-the-scenes helper, where he gets to work closely with animals - from little monkeys and penguins to even swimming with the polar bears.
