Raquél served with AmeriCorps Rhode Island as a Resident Services Coordinator at Smith Hill Community Development Corporation, an affordable housing nonprofit partnered with Accessing Home AmeriCorps. In this role, she supported housing stability by engaging residents, leading trainings, and building partnerships with community programs. This experience shaped her commitment to advocacy and community-centered solutions, values that continue to guide her work today.

Raquél now serves as Executive Director of the Rhode Island State Nurses Association, where she advances professional opportunities, member benefits, and nurse-focused legislation statewide.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and is on a mission to visit all 50 states (she’s halfway there!).
