Bill Tucker
Bill Tucker leads the foundation’s efforts to ensure that students can successfully navigate the transition from high school to postsecondary education and a degree or credential.
Since joining the foundation in 2012, Bill has also served in leadership roles on the K-12 Education team and the U.S. Program’s Policy and Communications team.
Earlier, Bill spent seven years as the managing director at Education Sector, a prominent education policy think tank. He built and led all aspects of the organization’s management and growth, from startup to maturity. His role also included serving as a policy expert, writer, speaker, and trusted source on a wide range of educational issues, including technology, innovation, data use, and student assessment.
Over his career, as both a founder and a board member, Bill has helped launch and grow many nonprofit and for-profit entities focused on improving education, civil society, and community engagement.
Bill is a graduate of Duke University and earned both an MBA and a Master of Education from Stanford University.
