Service Year Alliance Released the following Statement on Leadership Transitions within the Organization:
"After much thought and consideration, I have decided that it is in the best interest of my family and of the organization for me to move on from Service Year Alliance,” said Jesse Colvin, “I am so proud to have led this organization for the past two years through a tumultuous time for our country and a moment of real opportunity for national service. The organization is in a very strong place to deliver at this critically important inflection point. I have full faith and confidence in our capable and passionate team, and I look forward to watching them continue the work to make national service a common expectation and opportunity for all young Americans.”
“Service Year Alliance is incredibly grateful for Jesse’s leadership over the last two years and for his dedication to service — first as an Army Ranger and then as the head of our national service effort. On behalf of the entire Board, I want to wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” said John Bridgeland, Vice Chair of Service Year Alliance. “This is a particularly important moment for national service, especially with the potential for the groundbreaking Civilian Climate Corps (CCC) included in the Build Back Better reconciliation package. We have the opportunity to reimagine national service in America and bring us closer to our vision for universal national service, and we are incredibly proud of the work our team is doing, together with other partners, to get this over the finish line. We are confident in the interim leadership of Kristen Bennett, Chief Strategy Officer, and Jen Bagaglio, Chief Operating Officer, to co-lead the organization over the coming months to advance our mission and make the most of this historic moment as we begin our search for a new CEO.”
Service Year Alliance has commenced an executive search to find an entrepreneurial leader for the next era of national service. Candidates interested in learning more about the position or applying should contact Charles Nailen at [email protected].
