Yasmeen Shaheen-McConnell

Yasmeen Shaheen-McConnell is a senior advisor to Service Year Alliance. Most recently she served as the senior advisor for the American Climate Corps. The ACC was a Biden-Harris administration national service and workforce development initiative to train the next generation of clean energy and climate resilience workers while addressing the climate crisis today in communities across the country. Yasmeen joined the Biden-Harris administration in January 2021 as senior advisor for strategic partnerships at AmeriCorps, developing interagency and public-private partnerships on key administration priorities, such as climate, workforce development, education, and democracy. She also served as the acting strategic advisor for Native American affairs from 2021-2023.

Before joining the administration, Yasmeen served as managing director of strategic partnerships at Service Year Alliance, and she helped start the Franklin Project at the Aspen Institute, where she designed and ran a fellowship program for rising leaders across the country. She was a business development consultant with News Deeply, a new media and technology startup, and managed programs at the Arab American Institute and Foundation, including the only Census Information Center dedicated to analyzing data on the Arab American community.

Yasmeen is a proud AmeriCorps alumna, and served in 2008 with the Arab American Resource Corps.
